Both the pharmaceutical and utility industries are highly regulated in the US, which has made it more difficult for them to add social media marketing plans to their advertising efforts. Due to the growing importance of this form of marketing, more of these companies are finding creative ways of managing their social media campaigns via content monitoring and generation on sites like Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn.
In order for companies to effectively and proactively manage their social media marketing strategies they must employ a larger number of people dedicated to this task. The latest research suggests that despite the growing importance of social media in the enterprise, only half of all companies have developed written policies to govern social media use in the workplace. Major auto manufacturers are focusing on the Chicago region in their marketing plans for electric vehicles as they ramp up plans to increase production of these cars in 2012. Officials in Kane County are well aware that the local infrastructure is not up to meeting a surge in electric vehicle use, and that they need a plan for dealing with the increase in electric power consumption and construction of new charging stations.
The County has set up a task force on Electric Vehicle Infrastructure to get out in front of the trend, and it includes members from a variety of related industries and local government. Their goal is to create an ordinance by mid 2012 which can set out guidelines and standards for the development of electric vehicle infrastructure in the region.
